From code, to design, to pipeline, to platform…KISS, please. Can’t overstate it because architectures stick. You make them, you commit to them, you live and die by them (OK, maybe die is a bit much).
Anyway, you need experts making sound decisions. That’s us. We’ve been doing it since our founding. We don’t mess this up.
Our approach to architecture is founded on the following:
Simple is easier to build and maintain. Simple has fewer problems and costs. Complexity impresses colleagues but has no place in a practitioner's world.
Mature tech ensures widely-used and tested solutions for real-life circumstances. It also implies market penetration, labor pools and long-term stability.
Licensing: How much does this stuff cost...now and later?
Maintenance: Who keeps it running...how many hours at what rate?
Involve executives, managers and users in decisions. Alas, architecture is not a tech-only affair. Politics, economics, even emotions, are in-the-mix. Deal with it.
